This is is the place where we discover the God we can trust in all things. We spend time soaking in God's presence, thinking about Him like He's our best friend--because He is! What would you talk about with your best friend? What would you do together? This is what we do with God. We practice being with Him, and talking to Him with no filters, totally free and open.
"Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for I trust in You; teach me the way which I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul." - Psalm 143:8
When we walk into the Trust Room, the Lord hands us new eyeglasses. These new eyeglasses are to give us the right perspective, the Trust Perspective. The Lord says to us, "Do you know that 'trust' is a 5-letter word? The other 5-letter word that comes to fight against trust is 'doubt.' "
In this room, I saw followers of Jesus in prison. Not because of their love or adoration, but because of their faith. These were Doubt Prisons, and those in them had become Doubt Addicts. Doubt had become the socially accepted disease. It was ok for people to repeat their problems and pain, and not expect them to go. Yet Jesus wanted them to be satisfied and content with God, and to trust Him in their path to freedom.
Jesus then revealed a city--a city being given a beautiful invitation. This was an invitation to commune with the very thoughts and feelings of God's heart. Many had external expectations on God to perform a certain way and thought He would fix their marriages, children, or jobs. These external things were all very important to God, but the Great and Substantial Invitation was to know Him so we would trust Him.
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes. But its leaves will be green and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield its fruit." - Jeremiah 17:7-8
I saw a great sprout coming forth from the desert, where good men and women were satisfied with Him from within. Devotion was so great that the Lord Himself came with His divine tools to build, supply, protect, and defend! He set our things in order even better than we could.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
Let us encounter this God of Trust! He will supply, guide, protect, and provide!
